Breath x Lymph

One thing you can do EVERY DAY to support your Lymph and Wellbeing!

Some days you don’t have time to do all the things you want for yourself- or your Lymph.

👉 Here’s one thing EVERYONE can do for sure.

BREATHE!

Obviously most of us are breathing, but are you conscious of how you are breathing? Are you holding your breath? Taking shallow inhales? Not completely exhaling?

When we’re stressed our breathing changes dramatically. Wherever you are right now: you can practice taking a few deep inhales and a few deep exhales. Count to 5 on each inhalation. 〰️ Then count to 5 on each exhalation. These deep diaphragmatic breaths can help calm your nervous system and increase lymphatic circulation.

✨ Your largest lymphatic vessel, the thoracic duct drains 3/4 of lymph fluid each day and gets activated when you breathe deeply.

✨ The change in diaphragmatic pressure created by taking deep breaths from your abdomen to your chest encourages lymph flow.

✨ Research shows that deep breathing increases the supply of oxygen to your brain allowing the parasympathetic (rest & digest) response of the nervous system to kick in to calm your body down.

✨ Deep breathing has been shown to benefit the heart, digestion, the immune system and can lower blood pressure.

So, let’s all b r e a t h e 🌸
